Dr. Gerald Harris
Dr. Gerald Harris served as a pastor of churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Georgia for 41 years prior to becoming the Editor of The Christian Index, America's oldest religious publication, in June 2003. Dr. Harris has written for a variety of denominational publications, including devotions for Open Windows and HomeLife magazines. He has authored five books, "Pardoned to be Priests," "Olympic Heroes: World-Class Athletes Winning at Life," "A Gentle Zephyr – A Mighty Wind," "The History of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board - 1972–2017" and "Blessings and Balderdash," a compilation of 99 of his more popular editorials in The Christian Index. Dr. Harris is a graduate of Mercer University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has a doctor of ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary. He and his wife, Martha Jean have three children and 13 grandchildren.
